A/Prof Amanda Saracino is a Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists and Associate Professor with University College London (UCL). She is also recognised as a consultant Dermatologist by the Royal College of Physicians and General Medical Council in the UK and is an international Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatologists.

Amanda has extensive experience working in a variety of clinical and academic settings in both Melbourne and London, and now works in Melbourne in private practice and at Emeritus Research.

Amanda provides expert care for all skin conditions such as acne, rosacea, eczema, psoriasis and skin cancer / mole checks. In addition, A/Prof Saracino is an expert in complex medical, inflammatory and autoimmune skin conditions and a sub-specialist in Connective Tissue Diseases (such as Lupus and Scleroderma). She has a PhD from UCL.

After finishing Dux of Monash medical school in 2007, Amanda completed her specialty Dermatology training with the Australasian College of Dermatologists at tertiary referral hospitals in Melbourne and London. During this training she was awarded the Ken Paver and President’s Medals for academic excellence. She later worked for several years at the UK/Europe’s largest Scleroderma and Connective Tissue Disease Centre at the Royal Free Hospital in London. Here, she completed two clinical fellowships, was appointed as one of two subspecialty consultant Dermatologists in the joint Dermatology/Rheumatology service, received a number of research awards, and obtained her PhD. Amanda was also affiliated with the University College London Hospital’s clinical and academic Lupus Unit, and ran her own private Dermatology practice on London’s Harley Street.

A/Prof Saracino is widely published in, and an invited peer reviewer for, many Australian, US, UK and European Dermatology and Rheumatology journals. She speaks at local and international meetings and is asked for her expert opinion in a variety of settings in her sub-specialty field of Connective Tissue Diseases.

Amanda’s wholehearted commitment to her patients is demonstrated through her patience, empathy and thoroughness. She is a strong believer in empowering her patients with clear communication, detailed explanations and a collaborative approach to a holistic treatment plan.
